4th Annual Ducky Dash and Derby

Encourage your child to adopt a healthy lifestyle by participating in the Ducky Dash – a children’s fun run where every child is a winner! The first heat will start at 10:00am by the bridge over Ivy Creek.
- 0-3 years = 1/4 mile ( moms, dads, and siblings can run with the little ones)
- 4-6 years = 1/2 mile
- 7-12 years = 1 mile
** Kids can log this mile on their Virginia ten miler form**
Every child receives a medal for participating. There will be games and activities to entertain the little ducklings who don’t want to dash.

The Ducky Derby is a floating rubber duck race! We will “flood” Ivy Creek in Peaks View Park with 2,500 rubber ducks. With the help of the moving stream waters, some “Duck Wranglers” and nets, the race will be an event you won’t want to miss. Admission is free. Bring the kids out for games, activities, concessions and family fun—not to mention the chance to win great prizes!
On the day of the race, cheer on your lucky ducks as they race toward the finish line. You do not have to be present to win, but you’ll definitely want to be!!!
- Grand Prize ( 1st ducky to cross the finish line) = $2,000
- Second Place ( 2nd ducky to cross the finish line) = $1,000
- Third Place ( 3rd ducky to cross the finish line) = $250
- Lame Duck ( Last Ducky to cross finish line) = $250
