The Junior League of Lynchburg is pleased once again to be able to award $5,000 in grants to local non-profit organizations in the community. We were overjoyed with the number of grant applications that we received and excited to learn about all of the great programs that are going on right here in Lynchburg and the surrounding counties that tie in with the Junior League of Lynchburg’s current community initiative “Smart Moves”, which battles childhood obesity. The $5,000 awarded this year will be distributed amongst six agencies, specifically targeting nutrition, healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and literacy which will benefit thousands of people. It is a great feeling to be able to help other non-profit organizations that are addressing the needs of the citizens in our community. We hope to be able to continue to provide community grants in the future and look forward to seeing the benefits of these dollars at work.
