| Day in the Park
is a long-standing community project of the Junior League of Lynchburg
and is a cornerstone of the community’s annual Kaleidoscope
Festival. The Junior League is the organizing force behind Day
in the Park. In addition to the League’s efforts, the generosity
of the City of Lynchburg and corporate sponsors ensures that the
day is an overwhelming success. Day in
the Park is typically held in early September at Miller Park
in the heart of Lynchburg. Children of all ages can enjoy carnival
and inflatable rides, pony rides and other large-scale amusements
without having to pay an admission fee. Live entertainment is
provided throughout the day by local bands, school groups and
dance troops. Food is sold throughout the day by local non-profit
organizations and church groups.
Day in the Park is a day for families. Parents
can learn a wealth of information while their children play
carnival games at exhibits positioned along the Midway in booths
that are hosted by agencies and organizations in our area that
serve families and their needs.
The Junior League of Lynchburg encourages everyone
in Region 2000 to join us at Day in the Park. Please leave Fido
at home, however. Pets are not allowed in Miller Park during
the event. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. |
